Deutsch: Krebs / Español: Cáncer

A cancer is unregulated growth of changed cells; a group of changed, growing Cells (tumor).

In the context of the environment, "cancer" refers to the uncontrolled growth and spread of abnormal cells in the body. Cancer can be caused by a variety of factors, including genetic mutations, exposure to toxins or radiation, and certain infections. It can affect almost any part of the body, and it can be life-threatening if it is not diagnosed and treated early.

There is evidence to suggest that some environmental exposures, such as exposure to certain chemicals or radiation, can increase the risk of developing cancer. For example, studies have shown that people who are exposed to high levels of certain chemicals, such as benzene or formaldehyde, have a higher risk of developing cancer compared to those who are not exposed. Similarly, people who are exposed to high levels of radiation, such as those who work in nuclear power plants or medical facilities, have a higher risk of developing cancer compared to the general population.

There are many different types of cancer, and each type is named for the part of the body where it originates. Some common types of cancer include breast cancer, lung cancer, prostate cancer, and colon cancer.
