An Air Side Economizer is an air economizer cycle reduces the load on the chilled water system by increasing the flow of outside air above the minimum required for ventilation when the outside air temperature is favorable in comparison to return air temperature. Also known as free cooling. For example, in cooling season, if there is cool, dry air outside, it will be drawn into the building to cool it, instead of using chillers to provide cooling.
