The State Implementation Plan (SIP) is a detailed description of the programs a state will use to carry out its responsibilities under the Clean Air Act.

SIPs are collections of regulations used by a state to reduce air pollution. The Clean Air Act requires that EPA approve each state's SIP. Members of the public have an opportunity to participate in review and approval of these plans.
