Drain may refer to a fixture that provides an exit-point for waste water or water that is to be re-circulated or as a synonym for drainage, the natural or artificial removal of surface and sub-surface water from a given area.

A Drain Tile Loop is a continuous length of drain tile or perforated pipe extending around all or part of the internal or external perimeter of a basement or crawlspace footing.

A drain trap is a dip in the drain pipe of sinks, toilets, floor drains, etc., which is designed to stay filled with water, thereby preventing sewer gases from escaping into the room.
