Information, in its most restricted technical sense, is a sequence of symbols that can be interpreted as a message. Information can be recorded as signs, or transmitted as signals. Information is any kind of event that affects the state of a dynamic system that can interpret the information.

Information and globalization revolution is the use of new technologies such as the telephone, radio, television, computers, the Internet, automated databases, and remote sensing satellites to enable people to have increasingly rapid access to much more information on a global scale.

The Information Distribution is any release of documentation to the public.

The Information Integrity is the security of information, such as protection from unauthorized access or revision, to ensure that it is not compromised through corruption or falsification.

The Information Repository is a set of current information, technical reports, and reference documents regarding a Superfund site; it should be located in a public building that is convenient for local residents, such as a public school, city hall, or public library

The Information Resources Management is the planning, budgeting, organizing, directing, training, and controls associated with the collected findings and which encompasses related resources such as personnel, equipment, funds, and technology.

The Information Transparency is the inclusion of source references (citations) and possible clarifications for the information being disseminated.

The Information Utility is the usefulness of the information to the intended users.
