A particle size describes the diameter, in millimeters, of suspended sediment or bed material.

A particulate is of or relating to minute discrete particles; a particulate substance.

A Particulate Matter is a tiny (microscopic) matter in the atmosphere. It might be solid or liquid.

A parts per billion is the number of "parts" by weight of a substance per billion parts of water. Used to measure extremely small concentrations.

A Parts per billion (ppb) is a unit commonly used to express a Concentration Ratio (proportion) equal to 10-9.

A parts per million is the number of "parts" by weight of a substance per million parts of water. This unit is commonly used to represent Pollutant concentrations.

A Parts per million (ppm) is a unit commonly used to express a Concentration Ratio (proportion) equal to 10-6.
